Can we assume the Summer Saturday variant of the 44 ( - was it the 44B ?) has been dropped ? ( IE - the extension to Ledbury).

Yes. Following the closure of the Commercial Office at Worcester and the work moving to Leicester, they forgot to register the service for this year. Same goes for Service 418.
