Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, it looks like a further reduction in services is imminent (reflecting the even tighter restrictions on personal movement) !!

Probably reflects the drop in revenue more than anything else. As advised, people are not going out and are this not using buses. No Local Authorities in any area - as far as I know - have offered any additional funding to support services, so operators must cut or go bust.
The MD of Stagecoach West has said revenue is at about 15% of what is normally expected!

So it looks like the 31 is now the 31A running with full sized vehicles. So nothing around Comer Rs/Laugherne road. A Streetlite has just gone past me on the Henwick level crossing.

Re: Devastated Services (Coronavirus)
Thanks for flagging that up Michael !!
I don't properly understand some of it though !
If it means a sensible service level on the 303 (Diamond), 363, and 417 PM peak (etc)
will be restored, then that's great !!
But shouldn't it be free travel for the time-being, so that the driver's cab can be fully isolated
from the public (??)

Re: Devastated Services (Coronavirus)
So West Midlands Railway has announced more cuts from next week including the complete withdrawal of all services between Hereford and Worcester, this despite Great Western claiming that they had been assured that they would continue running local trains before withdrawing their services on the line this week.
Interviewed on local radio, spokesman Francis Thomas, typically, didn't answer that saying only that it was a difficult decision. He also ignored the question about whether alternative road transport could be provided. Of course, psssenger numbers are very low but most are said to be key workers who will have no other means of getting to work. With the DfT having now taken over the franchises it will be interesting to see if the government steps in.
National Express coaches are also withdrawing all their services from the weekend.

Re: Devastated Services (Coronavirus)
There'll be nothing left before long. I wonder what the attitude of the powers that be would be to people being forced to share cars to get to essential work as the trains have been cancelled?
