Service 146: Service History

Service 146 (1928–1939)

Operated by Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited

Before the Second World War, Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited (BMMO—Midland “Red” Motor Services) operated Service 146 between Birmingham, Redditch and Evesham. This service was one of many “Temporarily Suspended” due to fuel rationing shortly after the outbreak of war in 1939. The June 1940 timetable advised passengers to use Service 342 as and alternative, but this only ran between Evesham and Redditch, so people wishing to travel to Birmingham would need to change buses in Redditch.

This version of Service 146 was not reinstated once the war ended.
