Service 345: Service History

Service 345 (1936–1940)

Operated by Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited

Between c. 1936[Exact Date Needed] and early 1940[Exact Date Needed], the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited (BMMO—Midland “Red” Motor Services) operated Service 345 as an extended variation to their Service 315, that ran between Worcester, Kidderminster and Stourbridge.

While Service 315 and Service 316 continued to operate between Worcester, Kidderminster, and Stourbridge, most journeys were extended at the Stourbridge end of the route to start and finish in Wednesbury or Dudley, as new Service 345 and Service 346, respectively. The section of the route between Stourbridge and Dudley or Wednesbury was shown on timetables as replacing a journey on either Service 245 or Service 246, so it also acted as an extension of those routes to Worccester.

Service 345 and Service 346 were relatively short-lived, and by June 1940 they had been withdrawn and replaced at the Worcester end of the route by journeys on Service 315 or Service 316, and at the Stourbridge end of the route they were replaced by journeys on Service 245 or Service 246.
