Service 27: Service History

Service 27 (1914–1925)

Operated by Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited

In c. November 1914, Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited (BMMO—Midland “Red” Motor Services) introduced new Service 27, running between Birmingham City Centre, Blackheath, Dudley and Gornal Wood.

This route would be renumbered to Service 120 on Saturday 16th May 1925, as part of BMMO's simplified route numbering sequence, then to Service 140 on Saturday 11th February 1928, when the route numbering sequence was expanded to give more capacity.

More details about route numbering sequences can be found here… Midland “Red” History: Route Numbers.
