I was "thrilled" when this 'decker was acquired by FMR, as it was already "quite old and interesting", -- -- I believe it still had it's dual-purpose (semi-coach) seating, and I hoped it would be allocated to WR, and I hoped to take a ride on it, but alas, neither happened. -- -- I believe the complete repaint was done in Worcester garage, - which is (I think) very rare. -- -- Out of the four operating companies that were formed out of Midland Red, Midland Red West was the only one that did not receive brand new Leyland Olympians in the 1980's. -- -- This one seemed to have a curse on it though, because shortly after having major work done on the Gardner engine, the bus was involved in a collision and withdrawn.
