I think the FEDD's look distinctive rather than ancient. With relatively lightweight bodywork they had a good power to weight ratio and lively performance. 2123 the sister bus to the above was a regular on the early morning 315 as a duplicate to KR's brand new D9's 4850 and/or 4899 and reportedly passed one of these D9's on the dual carriageway between Ombersley and Hawford, much to the amusement of WRGS pupils on board. I also had the privilege to ride in 2123 on a 132 from Bearwood to Kidderminster one bank holiday just before it was withdrawn and can vouch for its hill climbing abilities and a memorable flat out run at 40 MPH plus with an 'out of gear' descent of Hagley bank at a diff rumbling 50 MPH + pace. A great shame that none was saved from the scrap man!

Thanks for that interesting info. above Tim ! -- -- As a kid, I was at the New Inn bus stop, early mornings, in late 1966, so unfortunately I missed 2123 by 6 years, AND, only once did I see, the rear-end of a D5B or an LD8 in The Tything, as they were disappearing from the area, and being scrapped.
