On Saturday 11th February 1928, Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited (BMMO—Midland “Red” Motor Services) again renumbered their stage carriage services into groups depending on their geographical location, stating with Service 100. Route numbers 1–99 were not used to avoid confusion with Birmingham Corporation routes.

From Sunday 28th April 1991, a large number of service changes are made to Midland Red West services in the Birmingham and Black Country areas due, in part, to Centro contract changes.

9th September 1991

Crowngate Bus Station (Phase 1) openShow All

At the end of operations on Sunday 8th September 1991, Angel Place Bus Station in Worcester is closed. From the start of operations on Monday 9th September 1991, Phase 1 of the new Crowngate Bus Station is opened with all Worcester Citibus services being re-routed to start and finish at the new site. Services using Newport Street Bus Station continue to use that site but are re-routed to additionally call in Crowngate to and/or from Newport Street. From the same date, existing bus stops at The Cross and Broad Street are taken out of use to allow pedestrianisation of these streets.

New Herefordshire contracts (“Village Links”)Show All

From Sunday 3rd September 2017, First Midland Red Buses Limited started operating new services in the Bromyard and Ledbury areas as part of a new 7-year contract won under tendering from Herefordshire Council. First Midland Red market these new services with the brand name “Village Links” and all the routes are advertised in a new 14-page timetable.
