23rd November 1985

Worcester Citibus Network LaunchedShow All

On Saturday 23rd November 1985, Midland Red (West) Limited replaced all Worcester City Local bus services (using “W”-prefix route numbers, first introduced in 1928) with a new Worcester Citibus network of services operated with high-frequency Mercedes-Benz L608D minibuses. On the same date there are a number of significant service changes throughout the operating area.

Birmingham Bull Ring Bus StationShow All

On Sunday 1st November 1987, Midland Red West took over full control of the Bull Ring Bus Station from National Express. In an attempt to attract more traffic, from Saturday 30th January 1988 many Birmingham Local services were rerouted to start and terminate in the bus station. A number of other changes were also introduced from the same date.
