22^nd February 1986

Worcester Citibus Network changesShow All

• Worcester Citibus Service 23 and Service 24 are extended past Lower Wick Traffic Island onto Lower Wick Estate, running via Canada Way, Labrador Road, Columbia Drive and Canada Way.

9^th September 1991

Crowngate Bus Station (Phase 1) openShow All

At the end of operations on Sunday 8^th September 1991, Angel Place Bus Station in Worcester is closed. From the start of operations on Monday 9^th September 1991, Phase 1 of the new Crowngate Bus Station is opened with all Worcester Citibus services being re-routed to start and finish at the new site. Services using Newport Street Bus Station continue to use that site but are re-routed to additionally call in Crowngate to and/or from Newport Street. From the same date, existing bus stops at The Cross and Broad Street are taken out of use to allow pedestrianisation of these streets.

• Worcester Citibus Service 23, Service 24, Service 25, Service 26, Service 26A, and Service 33 are re-routed to start and finish in Crowngate Bus Station at Stand D.

14^th May 1994

• New timetable for Service 23 and Service 24 introduced starting from Saturday 14^th May 1994, with all journeys running one minute later. Service 23 journeys now depart Crowngate Bus Station at 15 and 45 minutes past each hour, and Service 24 journeys now depart Crowngate Bus Station at 00 and 30 minutes past each hour.

• “Worcester Express” Service W2 and Service W3 journeys that do not operate as Limited Stop (running on Sundays and during the morning and evening off-peak period on other days) are renumbered to new Service 22 and Service 23. These journeys also run via Canterbury Road and normal Worcester City fares apply for children and OAPs (under 19s and OAP continue to travel for free on “Worcester Express” Service W1, Service W2 and Service W3).

• Worcester City circular Service X22, Service X23, Service 22 and Service 23 group are withdrawn and replaced by new Service 31A (anti-cloackwise) and Service 31C (clockwise).
