Service 479: Service History

Introduction

Service 479

In early 1928, Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited (BMMO—Midland “Red” Motor Services) renumbered their stage carriage services in to geographical groups. At this time, routes in the Hereford area were allocated numbers 422–478, with numbers 479–512 being set aside for Banbury. However, within a few years Hereford had already outgrown this, and from c. 1934 route number 479 was being used for a new route between Hereford and Ledbury.
