From c. 1930, and throughout the Second World War, Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited (BMMO—Midland “Red” Motor Services) operated Service 431 as a Leominster Market Day service between Leominster and Stoke Prior.
Until c. September 1939, three return journeys were operated each Friday, but this was reduced to two return journeys during the wartime period, and continued with the same timetable until c. 1948, when the service was withdrawn and replaced by new Service 437. The new service ran six days a week between Hereford and Leominster, via Risbury and Stoke Prior, giving a vastly improved service for Stoke Prior.

From the early 1950s, Service 431 ran as a short-working variation to Service 424 (Hereford, Hatfield, and Leominster), running on Fridays only for Leominster Market Day. The route was the same as Service 424, but only operated between Leominster and Hatfield.
Service 431 was withdrawn on Saturday 3rd April 1971.
