Service 349: Service History

Service 349 (1943–1969)

Operated by Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited

From Saturday 29th July 1933, Service 360 operated several journeys a day on Saturdays and Sundays between Droitwich Spa and Holt Fleet, via Ombersley. This service was intended to provide a connecting link between main services running to Worcester, Kidderminster, Bromsgrove, and Dudley, etc. on Service 144 and Service 345 and all the connections were shown with Service 360 in timetables.

At the start of the Second World War, a number of services were suspended due to fuel rationing, and [Service=360] was one of these. The service returned by 1943, but by this time it ran as Service 349, and there were only two return journeys on Saturdays only. No connections with other services were advertised.

In c. 1948, Service 349 was increased from two to four return journeys each Saturday, and this continued without any change to the timetable until the late 1950s, when it was reduced to three journeys each Saturday. The service was withdrawn c. 1969.
