Service 172: Service History

Service 172 (1928–1929)

Operated by Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited

Service 172 was a short-lived Limited Stop variation of Service 144 introduced on Wednesday 22nd August 1928, running between Birmingham and Worcester only. Service 172 buses operated over the same route as Service 144 but only stopped at Birmingham, Selly Oak, Northfield, Rubery, Marlbrook, Bromsgrove, Wychbold, Droitwich Spa, Fernhill Heath, and Worcester, which gave much improved journey times.

Service 172 was withdrawn in June 1929 and replaced with the Service X72 and Service X73 group of routes, which continued past Worcester to Gloucester or Cheltenham.
