What do you drive?
What do you drive?
This is my current ride - 1999 Ford Cougar 2.5 V6, approx 180bhp due to various tuning bits, 17" DARE DZ alloys with Uniroyal Rainsport tyres, extra fake wood trim , 700watt sound system with subwoofer. Constant battle to keep the rust at bay, but I rather like it. Soon to be replaced though.
Re: What do you drive?
This is my baby, it's a 1996 Subaru Legacy GT-B.
The Legacy was always sold in the UK, but they discontinued all the turbo versions here in 1994. This is a twin-turbo version that was only ever sold in Japan and was imported to the UK (via an agent) by the previous owner in 2007.
I got it as a non-runner with a dead gearbox (stuck in 2nd) in 2010 for £800 and set about getting it back on the road. It now has a low-ratio gearbox from a Subaru Impreza type-RA (that's the rally one) with a fully adjustable centre diff, and limited-slip diffs front and rear. The turbos have been upgraded to ones from a 2002 car, and it has bigger 8-pot brakes with 330mm discs. It is starting to show it's age now but still goes like a stabbed rat on the twisty bits.
(I also have a standard UK non-turbo version for my everyday car.)
