Rail Replacement
On the weekend of 22nd/23rd May, the line between Hereford and Worcester Shrub Hill will be closed for works. As a result Rail Replacement vehicles will be running the service. Yeomans Travel and other companies will be running the service. I shall be piloting one of the Yeomans vehicles
Re: Rail Replacement
A nice easy days "work" for you then. I remember driving that route when I was as First and getting long breaks at Shrub Hill, Great Malvern and Hereford stations.

Re: Rail Replacement
Saturday is a 13 hour day. Sunday is a 14 hour day. There is a grand total of 8 hours driving on each so there are a lot of breaks as well as it being rather easy!
Re: Rail Replacement
Hope you are all doing well over there mate. I'm up in Malvern for a week or so at the end of June so I'll try and visit the old gang.

Re: Rail Replacement
Plodding along as always! How things your end?
Re: Rail Replacement
You may find buses running in an easterly direction also from Worcester as there are on-going problems with all 80x rail units all over the UK.
Re: Rail Replacement
Cracks in welds of jacking points apparently; all 800 Class units not to be moved until inspected and cleared for service. Does anyone know if this is in addition to a number of this class temporarily withdrawn because of problems with yaw control dampers?
Re: Rail Replacement
Very well thanks mate. Be good to see you.
Re: Rail Replacement
Further reports confirm that the cracks are in addition to previously reported cracks in yaw control dampers. Most of the GWR IET Class 800s are affected and services will be cancelled or curtailed for 10 to 14 days, may be more. It also looks as though locos and coaches will be hired in from LSL for some skeleton services. Class 90 and coaches to help on the ECML. Not a good time to travel by rail at the moment!TimBrown wrote: ↑13:20 Saturday 8th May 2021Cracks in welds of jacking points apparently; all 800 Class units not to be moved until inspected and cleared for service.
