FMR: Refurbs and Repaints
Picking up where the thread in the old forum left off...
Opatre Solo 53049 (VU03 YKC) went into the bodyshop a few days ago (by 21st June) and is undergoing a body refurbishment. Should be the next vehicle painted into Urban2 livery when it's finished.

Re: FMR: Refurbs and Repaints
Is it at Hereford Car and Commercial again mate? I'll keep an eye out for it as I usually go that way to work now.
Re: FMR: Refurbs and Repaints
Still in the body shop at Worcester but looks about ready to go so maybe sometime this week. I think it may have been delayed a bit by someone taking the side out of 66699 and diverting the attention of the body men.
Re: FMR: Refurbs and Repaints
I dunno, but I saw a Gemini got rubbed-down in our bodyshop, and I wondered if that was repainted at Hereford (?)
You might be interested to know Matt, that 66691 now has a full-size rear advert for "THINK BIKE" - I think it might currently be the only WR bus with a full size rear advert (?)
Hope the new job is satisfactory !
Re: FMR: Refurbs and Repaints
That did not receive any bodywork attention while at Worcester, but I can see why you would think that as I made the same mistake when I first saw it. It was fitted with a full height rear advert which had deteriorated badly with repeated washing, and thus the whole back end looked like it had been sanded down.
It was at Worcester for a new engine and has now returned.
Re: FMR: Refurbs and Repaints
Don't think I got a photograph of the back-end of the Gemini, but took this on Friday 27th May 2016, just before it went back.
This was during the Hay-on-Wye festival and I did ask if I could use it for that, but alas they said no!

!!! THAT'S why I like this forum Adam ! -- it so often corrects or adds-to, an observation or impression !AdamH wrote: ↑20:30 Monday 4th July 2016That did not receive any bodywork attention while at Worcester, but I can see why you would think that as I made the same mistake when I first saw it. Re: FMR: Refurbs and Repaints
Thank you mate I'm really happy. Will get some pics up.
I'm glad my old favourite is still going - someone did show me a pic of the rear ad so glad she is still of use. Some of the moped riders I see in london now could do with 'Thinking Bus'
Re: FMR: Refurbs and Repaints
Full height rear advertising on a moped? Can't see it catching on myself!
Re: FMR: Refurbs and Repaints
53049 was not at Worcester garage when I was there earlier, so it has probably gone for paint.
