Ledbury services.
Ledbury services.
I'm sure you wont need reminding Adam, but a few years ago a Stagecoach driver got his upper-deck caught on one Ledbury's overhanging bits of ancient buildings -- -- I seem to remember something had "wrong-footed" him, - like a parked car or roadworks (?)
Re: Ledbury services.
Nearly did exactly the same in Ledbury in 1989 driving the D10 (4943) on our way to Swansea because some prat had parked badly. Don't think I'd have been too popular if I had piled our prize possession! It was an entertaining long weekend in which we took the D10, CM6, RCL2219, our 1930's Leyland Fire engine and the Daimler Roadliner on its first long journey. Nothing broke down but the fire engine boiled over 26 times; it came back at 60 odd mph behind a tow truck!

I remember that. I was working part-time for a company in Ledbury on their website and it was the talk of the town. I made sure I didn't do the same when I did my first 132 yesterday morning.DD12 wrote: ↑13:08 Wednesday 30th January 2019I'm sure you wont need reminding Adam, but a few years ago a Stagecoach driver got his upper-deck caught on one Ledbury's overhanging bits of ancient buildings -- -- I seem to remember something had "wrong-footed" him, - like a parked car or roadworks (?)
Re: Ledbury services.
I've been using First Worcester's Ledbury area services for a few months now, mainly for work but a bit of leisure too. It always seems to be the same drivers on the routes. Just wondered, do Worcester garage have a separate 'Ledbury' drivers link for the Herefordshire contracts on the 405, 482, 600, 671,672, 673, 674, 675, 676 and AST3?
Re: Ledbury services.
Yes, a new rota was created for that work, made up of drivers that only wanted to do the rural routes. I was a founding member!

Re: Ledbury services.
Following the withdrawal of the Stagecoach 132 bus from Gloucester in February,2022 there's been a vibrant campaign group Buses4Us.org which has been campaigning for a replacement service between Ledbury railway station, Newent and Ross-on-Wye. There is a groundswell of support along the route and the group has pledges from Ledbury, Newent and Ross town councils as well as several businesses. In total it has raised approximately £150,000 to date and needs a further £40,000 in order to progress to a tender.
If anyone is interested in this project please take a look at the website and, of course, ever bit of support helps.
