I’ve not been to a Midland Red event for a while and I liked the sound of this one, but alas I have other commitments on that day.

Excellent pictures.
Great to see the Enviro there - the one bus on display I have actually driven!

Yes, thanks for posting Reddibus, I was unable to make this event (saving my strength for a nice endoscopy as an outpatient this morning - nil by mouth 6 hours before procedure!) so it is good to have a record of the vehicles on show and giving rides, great to see so many Midland Red buses and coaches together at Wythall keeping the Company history alive for future generations.

Great event yesterday to celebrate the 120 years and a very good turnout bus and visitor wise! Here's a couple of pics at Maypole during 'Happy Hour'

Tim. - hope all went well today, I’ve had a couple of endoscopy procedures this year, not something I want to undertake again in a hurry. However, the day at Wythall was superb, and was extremely well patronised, with large queues forming for the bus rides. The only vintage bus I rode on was 6015, which was pushed into service on the car park shuttle.
Get well soon.
Get well soon.

Thanks, it looks as though the healing process is working, but another endoscopy in six week's time.
There is somebody we both knew who would have been very pleased that 4255 and 5073 were out on the road on Sunday, albeit 4255 on demonstration runs only; I refer to the late Bob Sim who saved both buses from the scrap man. Whenever I came up to an event day at Wythall in the past, he always asked what had been done with 4255 and was always disappointed when I said it looked in good external condition on public display under cover.
This bus entered service at Worcester garage in 04/55 as second of the first production batch and moved to Leamington in 02/63. It is the last remaining of 218 S14s built in three batches at Central Works, Carlyle Road between 07/54 and 05/59 and in my opinion is highly significant as BMMO/Midland Red under Mr. D.M. Sinclair's guidance gained valuable experience running these advanced spec. lightweight chassisless buses which led to production of the S15 dual purpose buses, the world famous CM5 Motorway coaches and a whole series of 36 feet long single-deckers from S16 to S23 including the CM6 Motorway coaches. In all probability the design of the monocoque D9 and D10 double deck buses was also influenced by S14 operating experience.

It was nice to see it move under its own power, albeit empty, such a shame it’s proposed work at Padmore Street was cancelled.
