Hi Kim, she sailed through a class 6 MOT with flying colours. My conductor kept the ministry man busy throughout the test. The examiner was an ex Bournemouth bus mechanic and grew up working on fleetlines back in the 70s.
It drives really well and sounded lovely pulling up Bath road.
We've got it at the garage for a couple of weeks whilst we load it full of parts and museum create some room indoors.

Yes, well done to everyone involved.

I remember 6015 in its EM days back in the 1970s on the 148, so I really look forward to seeing it in use again.

A steady trip up the A38 to Longbridge Lane, then turn right at the Man on the Moon on the Redditch Road should be OK. Maybe even a stop-off en route at Bromsgrove railway station to cool off. In any case the old trick we used to employ on Leyland Nationals when they got hot in the summer was to turn on the heaters which gave the engine additional radiator capacity. Passengers complained like hell and it made the cab like an oven, but usually the bus made it from Rubery into Birmingham and return on a 144 albeit running a bit late, but only if it bus was coaxed along steadily after the overheat light and buzzer came on. The long climb out of Bromsgrove, especially the gradient from Lydiate Ash to Rubery was the usual overheating spot after attempting to make up time caused by delays coming out of Worcester; for whatever reason the 510 engine gave a sort of warning by running slower and slower on tick-over at bus stops (was it starting to seize-up?).

6015 is due to leave mid-morning on Saturday 14th August, returning to BaMMot, not too sure of the route, the easiest being M5, M42 and A435 up to the museum.

I look forward to taking a ride on it, as soon as the museum are ready to use it.

(My last ride on one was on 6032, freshly repainted at a Swadlincote open day and anniversary c.1981) !!

Now back safely at its spiritual home, a few things to sort out ( the odd coolant leak or two), drove nicely, a few stares from intending 144 passengers along the way. A big thank you to all at First Worcester, especially Pasty who's already missing it and to all the sponsors. Hard to think that this was its first long run since 1983!
