Re: Vehicle Replacements 2024

Please note that in the above I have ignored the Volvos which are still listed as WR on bustimes, but that are no longer in use at WR !!

Re: Vehicle Replacements 2024

Firstly, can anyone tell me if all timetabled journeys ran this morning, or were some "dropped" ? - It might not be possible for us enthusiasts to work it out if say - a bus on a service with a 10 minute frequency / interval is running 10 minutes late ( - I have logic problems !). Why I as...

Re: Vehicle Replacements 2024

Well, most of the 8 remaining Volvos are now parked by the fence adj. to Pheasant Street, with "stickers" in their windscreens, so their departure must be imminent ! I was expecting some of them to stay a while longer to cover for any of the E400s that are not yet ready for service (33737,...

Biggest ever "batch" of DDs ?

Assuming that we keep them all, Worcester Padmore Street depot now has a numerical run of 13 double-deckers -- -- 33858-70.
I believe the biggest numerical run before now was 10 -- -- 6046-55, in 1967.

Ignoring pre-Midland Red trams, can anyone confirm or correct this ?

Padmore Streets wash hasn’t worked since January. Its replacement has been authorised and it will be in the same location as present, but will be covered so that the adjacent walkway will be dry.
That's great news, thanks bmmoboy !!

Re: Vehicle Replacements 2024

33858 is on the patch (WR) this afternoon, which makes 16 DDs again, but we don't know what the permanent total will be circa. September onwards -- I've noticed on bustimes that 2 of the E400s look to be "on the long-term sick" -- 33863+69, - the latter is now parked at the back of the pat...

I'm sure that a few days back that 33832 was down on Bustimes as a transfer to Worcester but it is not of the list anymore , can I assume that it never got here ??
I noticed that too, Andrew ! -- it gave us 16 DDs very briefly ( - the more, the better, I say !)

Re: The End of WR's StreetDecks

They were from Port Talbot Adam, and are now showing on the bustimes.org list for Worcester.

Re: The End of WR's StreetDecks

Well, at least one more DD will arrive today according to bustimes.org. It's an E400 from Bath, and is in the same batch as our other ones -- 33862 SL14 DFK. Those of us who are ancient will remember that the FK registration mark was polific on our local roads as it was the mark for the City of Worc...

Re: The End of WR's StreetDecks

I was on the Clifton Corridor today, and there is no way a decker could operate on this service. The trees, especially around Ham Bridge, are extremely low, and my E200 was hitting quite a few of them. If a decker is operated, it will soon find its way to Weston-super-Mud, on their open top service...
