Re: Shrub Hill canopy refurbishment.
Apologies for not mentioning this some time ago, but, in late August 2024, Murphy's contractors put spray paint on Shrub Hill platform one adjacent to the West Midland Railways crew reporting office door. It showed the point where an emergency staircase is to begin for the refurbished goods over-bri...

Re: 46 & 46A West Heath to Q.E. Hospital
Thanks for the information JustinTyme.
That's a lot of dead mileage from Rugby!
The tendered work done by Nuneaton garage in Coventry is probably a better fit as the dead mileage much less at 10.5 miles each way.

Re: 46 & 46A West Heath to Q.E. Hospital
Thanks for the information Rich82. According to Google maps the distance from Rugby to West Heath is between 41.6 and 43 miles depending on the route used, and distance from Nuneaton between 30 and 33 miles. The routes shown are not that straightforward so I am wondering if Stagecoach use an outstat...

46 & 46A West Heath to Q.E. Hospital
Driving home from Selly Oak Limb Centre between Kings Norton and Rednal yesterday morning, Monday 30 December 2024, I was surprised to see a Stagecoach ADL E20 single decker in service coming down the road from The Man On The Moon pub. On checking the website I see it was either a 46 or 46 A from We...

Re: Padmore Street Friday 6 Dec 2024
Glad it isn't just me thinking that the new First Bus livery of battleship grey and drab blue is very undistinguished. The green applied to the 'Salt Road' well liked Volvos (just a memory now) was OK but I reckon that the livery applied to some of those buses on repaint was the best we have had at ...

Northern Belle via Shrub Hill
On Saturday 14 December 2024 the Northern Belle train ran from Bristol via Gloucester, Cheltenham and Worcester Shrub Hill to Oxford then Didcot North, Swindon, Cheltenham, Gloucester and back to Bristol. It was powered 'top and tail' by 57315 and 57601 'Windsor Castle', but the whole train is start...

Padmore Street Friday 6 Dec 2024
These pictures, taken by Bob Hemming from the Pheasant Street gate, show a number of Worcester's 'new' old double-deckers at lunchtime on Friday 6 December 2024, presumably idle for most of the day between morning and late afternoon school contract runs. Their livery is very drab and uninspiring to ...

Re: Improved services in 2025
Midland Red West used Nationals on several local Droitwich services around late 1984 early 1985 before the minibuses arrived in 1986. I remember driving a circular route alongside the railway west of Chawson to Westlands, or Boycott as it was originally known. It is so long ago that I don't recall a...

Re: Victorian Fayre 2024 via new route ?
Strange that a 12 minute headway can be operated on Saturday and a 15 minute headway on the Sunday in both directions when it suits the Company and Worcs. C.C. especially as First Bus no longer operate the 37 stage carriage service up Ombersley Road. Add in that Diamond don't run the 303 on a Sunday...
