When the “Hereford Hopper” minibus service was launched Midland Red West Limited ran a competition to name the buses. As a result almost all of the Mercedes-Benz 609D minibuses in Hereford carried a name above the front doors

These names were removed as the vehicles were reallocated to other depots or when they received full body advertising.
*Note: For some reason 1429 (E429KUY) carried two names, The Third Choir was displayed on the off-side, while The Herefordian was displayed on the near-side [ Photograph ]. Possibly due to a mix-up with 1428 (E428KUY) which didn't carry a name?
