Midland Red (Express) Limited
formed on 6th September 1981, taking over long distance coach work from the Midland Red Omnibus Company
Limited (MROC). Initially this was the only type of work undertaken by the company and as a result, the entire
fleet was made up of coaches.
Later, the company wished to expand their operations and a small number of Daimler Fleetline double-deck buses were acquired to allow them to operate a more varied span of work.
Midland Red (Express) Limited renamed to Midland Red Coaches Limited in May 1985.
[ Page Top ]In June 1986, Midland Red Coaches Limited acquired five Daimler Fleetline double-deck buses from Fife Scottish Omnibus Limited, Kirkcaldy. They were fitted with H44/31F Alexander bodywork and all five were withdrawn after only four months services and passed to Ribble Motor Services Limited, Preston.
