Old Warwick Road, Leamington Spa.
- Purpose built by Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited (BMMO — Midland “Red”).
- Depot opened in April 1922.
- Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited (BMMO — Midland “Red”) acquire a controlling
interest in the Leamington & Warwick Transport Company Limited in November 1935, which
then operated as a subsidiary to BMMO.
- All services of the Leamington & Warwick Transport Company Limited are taken over by the Birmingham
and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited (BMMO — Midland “Red”) on 30th September
1930. Control of the Warwick garage at Emscote also passes to BMMO, who use it
as an outstation, or “dormy garage,” for Leamington Spa depot.
All vehicles in the Leamington & Warwick Transport Company Limited fleet are
withdrawn and replaced by BMMO built SOS “SON” single-deck buses at this time.
- Company renamed to Midland Red Omnibus Company Limited (MROC) on 29th March
1974, with a depot allocation of 79 vehicles and approximately 193 staff at this time (split between Old Warwick
Road site and Myton Road site).
- Depot closed on 31st May 1980, with the introduction of the “Leamington and Warwick”
MAP scheme, and the subsequent reorganising of services. Vehicles
relocating to Myton Road site.
- Buildings demolished in 2007.
Myton Road, Leamington Spa.
- Purpose built site.
- Opened by Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited
(BMMO — Midland “Red”) in September 1957, taking control
of all vehicles and services from the Warwick
garage outstation, or “dormy garage.”
- Company renamed to Midland Red Omnibus Company Limited
(MROC) on 29th March 1974, with a depot allocation
of 79 vehicles and approximately 193 staff at this time (split
between Old Warwick Road site and Myton Road site).
- Depot control passed to Midland Red (South) Limited when
the Midland Red Omnibus Company Limited split up on 6th September
1981.
- Depot closed on 27th January 1991, all vehicles
relocated to new premises in Station approach.
- Demolished and now a retail unit.
