Lichfield Depot
Trent Valley Road, Lichfield.
- Purpose built depot with a large two-story office block at the
front, single side entrance and two rear entrances. Maximum capacity
of 30 vehicles indoors, with further parking outside at the rear
on un-surfaced land.
- Opened by Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited
(BMMO — Midland “Red”) on 17th September
1954, with an initial allocation of 16 vehicles.
- Allocation peaked at 19 vehicles in 1960.
- Depot closed by BMMO on 28th May
1971, with operations and vehicles shared between
Bearwood depot,
Stafford depot,
Sutton Coldfield depot, Swadlincote
depot and Tamworth
depot.
- Now in use as a Staffordshire County Council depot.
Station Road, Lichfield.
- Opened on 1st April 1986 by Midland Red (North)
Limited, houseing a fleet of minibus for new services in the town,
and the Mercian coaching unit.
- All Midland Red North minibus operations in Lichfield ended on 13th April
1987, with services passing to Midland Fox Limited and Stevensons
of Uttoxeter.
- Site closed and sold.
